A former editor mentioned, "VIZ has a poor track record with regard to diversity, equity, and inclusion. There are very few Black and Latinx employees at the company, and the company culture caters to its middle-aged/older employees, which leaves younger employees feeling alienated. The executive leadership team is not diverse, nor are they well-versed in leading a modern company. Growth opportunities are few and far between, and the office culture can occasionally fall prey to cliques and favoritism. It is very easy to professionally stagnate at VIZ and many talented employees end up leaving simply because they are not given the opportunity to advance and grow."

There were a lot of smart, passionate people there, but many found some management strategies frustrating and were looking to leave. That said, VIZ is doing well despite an industry that, as a whole, is struggling. Perhaps when they emerge from this transitional period, the work experience will become more pleasant.Good work/life balance, passionate colleagues, good HRDisgruntled colleagues, Not a ton of growth opportunity"
